Allen County Regional Hospital, which dedicated its new state-of-the-art 25-bed Critical Access facility on Oct. 18, 2013, announced today that physicians, nurses and staff will begin caring for patients at the new hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013.

“As many in our communities understand, we faced some significant issues with our phone lines, which delayed our move into the new facility,” says Ron Baker, Chief Executive Officer, Allen County Regional Hospital. “Thanks to the considerable efforts of Senator Jerry Moran and others who helped behind the scenes, those problems have now been resolved and we will officially open for hospital business Dec. 10.

“This will be a great day not only for Allen County Regional Hospital, but also for the people of southeast Kansas who will benefit from top-notch healthcare at one of Kansas’s premier critical access facilities.”

Allen County Regional Hospital offers comprehensive services for the entire family including cancer, stroke, surgical care; ear, nose and throat care; emergency care; home health care; hospice care; imaging and laboratory services; pain management; 24-hour skilled rehabilitation and "swing bed" care; sleep disorders; women’s services; and more.
